Sophie-Henriette Wilker is part of our HR team in Rostock. After more than five years at Euroports, she knows exactly what to look for when recruiting new colleagues.

 

“I am responsible for recruitment and the onboarding process. I conduct job interviews, write contracts, and pass it all on to our payroll, to accounting. What I enjoy most are the job interviews. Getting to know the applicants, having a personal conversation, finding out what motivates them. That’s a lot of fun. What makes a good match? We think it’s important that people who are looking for a job at the port are practical, that they are interested in working with heavy machinery, that they have fun and that they fit into the team.”

“We ship all kinds of goods from Rostock. From paper and grain to building materials and large goods. When I say large, I mean they weigh 50, 60, 70 tons. That requires heavy equipment that you won’t find in any other industry. This is a major argument in attracting the right people. Besides that, we have a great workplace here with very nice colleagues and a good team spirit.”
